Prof. Dr. Johannes Vogel studierte Biologie an den Universitäten in Bielefeld und Cambridge und promovierte in Genetik an der Universität Cambridge. Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Generaldirektors des Museums für Naturkunde ist er unter anderem Vorsitzender des Leibniz-Verbund Biodiversität sowie Professor für Biodiversität und Wissenschaftsdialog an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin. Mit einer Sammlung von über 30 Millionen Objekten ist das Museum für Naturkunde Berlin eines der größten forschenden Naturkundemuseen der Welt und zählt jährlich bis zu 800.000 Besucher. Vogels Vision ist es, den wissenschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Dialog zu befördern und aktives Handeln für Natur und Demokratie anzuregen.

Prof. Dr. Johannes Vogel studied biology at the universities of Bielefeld and Cambridge and received his doctorate in genetics from the University of Cambridge. In addition to his position as Director-General of the Museum of Natural History, he is also Chairman of the Leibniz Association for Biodiversity and Professor of Biodiversity and Science Dialogue at the Humboldt University Berlin. With a collection of more than 30 million objects, the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin is one of the largest researching natural history museums globally and attracts up to 800,000 visitors annually. Vogel's vision is to promote scientific and social dialogue and encourage effective action for nature and democracy.
