Beschreibung

I plead for an Expanded Art history - with a selective and thoughtful response to popular culture, both historical and contemporary. In museums we have to move away from a too puristically heroic art history with its fetishisation of the masterpiece. Away from a history that remains too much in the conventions of the canonical narrative of the history of style and form. But I also plead for differentiated, intelligent exploitation of the potential of the museum and art history, to protect, defend and at the same time open up the art discourse.
