David Chipperfield
Architect

Sir David Chipperfield studierte Architektur an der Kingston School of Art sowie der Architectural Association School of Architecture in London und gründete 1985 sein eigenes Architekturbüro. 2012 war er Kurator der 13. Internationalen Architekturbiennale in Venedig. Für seine Leistungen im Bereich der Architektur erhielt er zahlreiche hochkarätige Auszeichnungen, unter anderem das Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande, die RIBA Royal Gold Medal sowie den Praemium Imperiale der Japan Art Association. 2010 erhielt er die Ritterwürde.

Sir David Chipperfield studied architecture at the Kingston School of Art and the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London before founding his own practice in 1985. In 2012, he curated the 13th International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. He received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2009 and was knighted for services to architecture in the UK and Germany in 2010. In 2011, he received the RIBA Royal Gold Medal for Architecture, and in 2013, the Praemium Imperiale from the Japan Art Association.
