I’m a journalist based in the United States covering the Chinese diaspora, the human side of the U.S.-China relations story, technology, and culture. My work has appeared in ChinaFile, Columbia Journalism Review, The New York Times, POLITICO Magazine, South China Morning Post, among others. Every week, I contribute reporting and writing to POLITICO’s China Watcher newsletter.

I’m a recipient of the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award and the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing Best in Business Award. Previously, I was a fellow at ChinaFile, reported and produced for CNN in Beijing. I also worked as a personal finance reporter in New York.
