Mariët Westermann lehrt zur Geschichte der Gartenkunst sowie zur Kunst der Niederlande. Zuvor war sie leitende Vizepräsidentin der Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, an der sie das Stipendien- und Forschungsprogramm leitete. Mariët Westermann teaches the history of gardens and the art of the Netherlands. Previously she was Executive Vice President of the Andrew W.
